Signed zones prove that a name does not exist with NSEC or NSEC3 records. RFC 9276 recommends NSEC3 with zero extra iterations and no salt; this page measures how many .dk zones follow that, which providers don't, and who publishes CDS/CDNSKEY for automated key rollovers. Data comes from our own scanners, which re-resolve every .dk domain in the zone roughly once a week.
Based on 719,972 domains probed so far (55.1% of the zone). A domain's probe is refreshed with every full scan, and otherwise roughly every 30–35 days, so while the first pass is still filling in the numbers can shift.
Of 485,909 signed zones probed whose denial of existence we could see (a signed wildcard zone answers every name, so it shows none), 273,360 (56.3%) use NSEC3, 201,749 (41.5%) use a classic NSEC chain, which lets anyone list every name in the zone, and 10,800 (2.2%) use compact denial (RFC 9824, Cloudflare's "black lies"), which can't be walked. RFC 9276 asks NSEC3 zones for 0 extra iterations and no salt: iterations cost resolvers CPU for no security gain. 131,909 NSEC3 zones (48.3%) still use iterations and 132,164 use a salt; 1,250 use opt-out.

CDS and CDNSKEY records let a DNS operator hand key rollovers to the registry automatically (RFC 7344/8078). 183,494 of the 526,914 signed zones we asked (34.8%) publish them; 473 publish the delete signal, asking the registry to remove their DS and turn DNSSEC off.
