Every zone's SOA record carries a serial number and timers. The serial format reveals how the zone is managed, and the timers should follow RFC 1912 and RFC 2308. This page shows both across .dk and per DNS provider. Data comes from our own scanners, which re-resolve every .dk domain in the zone roughly once a week.

The serial format fingerprints how a zone is managed: date-based serials are the classic convention, Unix timestamps usually mean automation, small counters are typical of some DNS software. 700 date-style serials are dated in the future.
